2018 AJR (Average Joe Ride) Season Kickoff

SICRide Report

After a long cold winter (and lingering winter-spring) we are finally back on the roads for 2018! The AJR started it all many moons ago and it remains the SIC signature ride of choice. Early in the season, we start the ride at 10 AM and even with the still-quite-chilly temps we had 8 riders come out. There was a front group of 5 riders (Brad, Pete, Dave, Warren, and Ron) riding what I think was a high B pace. I rode with Tom and Jerry (I just love saying that!) at a relaxed pace on our gravel/touring bikes to shake out some bag setups. We finished with 25ish miles at about a 12.5 ams (average moving speed). The wind was the big story of the day as it was quite intense. As you can tell we took our time and enjoyed the ride! Post ride we finished with an extended lunch at Hidden Harbor (yeah, we were there a while).

CORRECTION! We had 9 and not 8 – I forgot Don!
